We have not announced new dates yet but feel free to reach out if you would be interested in joining our waitlist!
By popular request, we’re excited to be offering more hand-building classes on July 9th and July 23rd! Please note that this is going to be first-come-first-serve and we are limiting class sizes to 5 participants per class. That way, we can ensure everyone receives 1:1 attention and help. If you are interested, give us a call (720-324-3133) as soon as you can to reserve your seat (or feel free to stop by our shop)!
Clay Mug Class Details
In this class, you will be creating a mug using the slab method which is a great technique for all skill levels, especially beginners who have never worked with clay before. The shop owner, Christina, and her husband, Christophe, will be your instructors, and will be guiding you step-by-step on how to go from just a piece of clay to a beautiful hand-made and custom mug! It’s a wonderful and fun experience, and you get to create a completely unique piece that you will then be able to paint and take home with you!
During the class, your instructor will show you how to shape your mug using the slab technique. Once we’ve shaped the mug, it needs to thoroughly dry which can take approximately 2 weeks. Because clay needs to dry before it can be glazed, we will store it for you at the studio. After it’s dried, we will fire it in order to turn it into what’s called “bisque.” Bisque is what we offer pre-made at the studio for everyone to paint (except yours will be made with your very own hands)! Once in the bisque state, you can use our glazes to paint your handmade mug however you’d like. We will then fire the glazed mug one additional time, which will make it food and water safe, at which point it will be ready for you to pick up! We’ll give you text message updates to let you know when it’s ready to be painted and when it’s ready to be picked up.
The class and pricing include all of the supplies and instructions needed for hand-building a mug. Glazing is also included, which means you’ll be able to come at any time after we’ve fired your mug in order to paint it however you’d like! Once painted, we will fire the glaze and mug one more time to make it food and water safe. We will be providing aprons, but please come in clothes that you do not mind getting clay on and feel free to bring snacks or beverages if you’d like (no alcohol, please, as Colorado does not allow BYOB).
Duration and Dates/Times
Classes are 2 hours long from 10am to 12pm, and currently available dates are July 9th and July 23rd. Please call for availability as we do not update this page in real time.
The total price is $75, and our pricing includes everything you need to make and paint your mug from start to finish, including glazing and firing to make it food and water safe.
All you need to reserve your spot is to call us (720-324-3133), and provide a deposit (more information on this below).
Cancellation/Rescheduling/Late policy details
Cancellation/rescheduling of your class will need to be done 48 hours prior to the day of the class in order to receive a refund of your deposit.
We will be sending out a reminder text message 3 days prior to confirm your attendance and give you a chance to rebook if something in your calendar changes.
No-call/no-shows or lack of 48 hours notice for any reason will result in a forfeit of the deposit, and an additional deposit would be required to book another class.
If you think you will be late arriving to class, please give us a call to let us know. If you are going to be more than 15 minutes late, we ask that you reschedule to avoid delaying the rest of the class.
How to book your class
To reserve your spot, call us at (720-324-3133) or visit us at our studio in order to submit your deposit, as that is the only way to reserve and guarantee a spot.
