Frequently Asked Questions

How much does it cost?

We do not charge studio fees! Instead, you simply pay for the item you choose, and the lowest-priced item we have is $8 + tax. Regular paint is included. We do offer specialty glazes that you may want to use that are an additional cost, and we can explain this to you in the studio! We also offer weekly sales.

I’ve never done this before, how does it work?

We’re very excited to be introducing you to pottery painting! It’s a fun and creative process, and we can’t wait to see your first piece! The process is very simple and straightforward. You can visit us at our location where we offer many different pottery options for you to paint. We have everything from little figurines and decorative pieces, all the way to large and practical items such as bowls, plates, and planters. We even provide examples of many pieces so you can see what a final result could look like! Each item will be labeled with a price, so you’ll know exactly how much you’re spending before you even start. Once you’ve selected a piece, you can choose the colors you’d like to paint with and we will provide you with all of the tools you need. After painting, we take your piece and fire it in a kiln: picture a weird-looking oven that we fire at around 1,800F to cure the paint which makes the colors far more vibrant than when they’re first painted. It also helps make the pieces food-safe. This process takes us 7-10 days, at which point we then call you so you can pick up your piece!

How long does the painting and firing process take?

How long you wish to spend painting an item is entirely up to you! Most people take between 45mins to 1h30 depending on the size and complexity of the piece. Please note that we may need to implement a 2-hour limit on busy days. Even if you do not finish painting, we can either hold your piece for a week, or you can take it home with you and come back another time to finish it. Once you’ve finished painting your piece, we fire it in a kiln to make the colors pop, and this process takes us 7-10 days. We notify you as soon as it’s ready for pickup.

I’m not very creative…can I still do this?

Absolutely! You can paint pieces that are as simple or as complex as you’d like, and this is an art that all skill levels can enjoy! We also provide examples of pre-made pieces that you can base yours on, and our studio artists are always available to show more examples and to provide tips, tricks, and insights. Plus, we offer many different types of pieces you can choose from, including practical options such as plates, bowls, planters, etc…so it doesn’t just have to be creative, it can be very practical.

How do I know when my piece is ready?

As soon as your piece is ready for pickup, we will send you a text message. Outside of holidays, we typically have a turnaround time of 7-10 days. Please call us to check for holiday turnaround times.

What if I’m not able to pick up my item for a while? Will you keep it for me?

Because we only have so much space to work with, we can hold a piece for 30 days. If it is not claimed after 30 days, we will call and text multiple times to make sure that you have plenty of notice and opportunities to pick up your piece, but if we don’t hear back from you, we will donate your piece.

Do you accept call-ahead seating? Do you require reservations?

All of our tables are first-come-first-serve. If you arrive during a busy time, we do have a hold list and will call you once a table becomes available.

If you have a group of 6 or more, please call ahead to make sure we have capacity, especially on weekends.

Do you provide a party space?

Yes! We provide a party space that can accommodate up to 12 people. This is a separate space in our studio so that your party can have a great time! This is a fantastic space for birthdays, bachelorettes, corporate team-building, customer appreciation, etc… If you have more than 12 people, you can rent the studio. Please call (720-324-3133) or email for more information!

Can we rent the studio?

Yes! If you have more than 12 painters, we offer the ability to rent the studio before or after business hours and on Fridays, Saturdays, or Sundays. Please see more information about renting the studio here and you can call (720-324-3133) or email for more information or to book your party!

Can I bring alcohol to drink while I paint?

Unfortunately, it is not legal in Colorado for businesses to offer BYOB (Bring Your Own Bottle) or “corkage fees.” Instead, we are actively applying for an alcohol license to be able to offer wine, beer, and ciders for sale on-site so that you can drink while you paint if you are 21 or older! The application and approval is a multi-month process, but we currently hope to be offering this in 2024.

My child ate your paint…what do I do?

All of our paint is non-toxic and lead-free. It is also food safe (unless otherwise labeled in-store) once it’s been fired in our kiln. In fact, the paint is water-based so if you get some on your clothes or skin, you can wash it off with soap and water!

Are you part of a national chain?

Nope! We are a woman-operated small business, and we are proud to be in Englewood, CO! Thank you so much for supporting our small business.

Do you give donations or contribute to charity?

Yes! We take donations year-round for feminine hygiene products in undisturbed packaging, and we are always active and looking for additional charities to support the local Englewood community or neighboring communities.

This sounds fun, can I get a job here?

We’re always excited to take your application in-person and to reach out whenever we have a suitable opening!
